Ningbo Customs has dismantled several criminal groups involved in smuggling cryptocurrency mining rigs, seizing over 400 units including Antminer L9 and Ice River KS3 models. The groups allegedly disassembled the rigs and falsely declared them as "industrial blockers" to smuggle them through ports in Ningbo and Guangzhou. Once in China, the rigs were reassembled and sold domestically or sent to mining farms in Xinjiang and Hunan. Authorities also reported that the groups used USDT for cross-border payments to evade financial regulations.
