CryptoQuant analyst MorenoDV said a new whale cohort realized more than $1.2 billion in profits over the past three days after Bitcoin rebounded above the short-term whale realized price of about $68,900. The single-day profit-taking figure on August 20 reached $614 million, also a record for the cohort. MorenoDV said the group had been underwater for months, and the rebound allowed these holders to exit at break-even or profit. He added that if BTC can stay above the whale cost basis near $70,000 and profit-taking returns to normal, it would suggest new demand is absorbing supply. If the price slips back below that level, the rebound may be only a break-even exit move.
