Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced the release of oksolc, a new Solidity compiler built with Zig that significantly accelerates development workflows. The updated tool reduces full build times from 10 minutes to just 2 minutes while generating identical bytecode to previous versions. Incremental compilation for large projects has also seen dramatic improvements, dropping from 700 seconds to 99 seconds. This performance enhancement delivers more than 5x faster compilation speeds for certain contracts without altering the underlying output.
