The Near Protocol community has initiated a proposal to reduce the fixed annual inflation rate of NEAR tokens from 5% to 2.5%. The proposal includes plans for future flexible adjustments to the inflation rate. The voting process will conclude either when more than two-thirds of the staked shares vote in favor or by the deadline of August 1, 2025.
