Nasdaq has proposed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) a plan to tokenize stocks of major companies, including Apple and Microsoft, with a target completion by late 2026. This initiative aims to integrate blockchain technology into traditional trading systems, enhancing efficiency with faster settlement and enabling 24/7 trading. Matt Savarese, head of Nasdaq's digital assets strategy, highlighted the focus on regulatory compliance as a key component of this transformative project.
