Montage Technology has reported a significant increase in shipments of its DDR5 RCD chips in the first half of the year, driven by strong demand from the AI industry and rising DDR5 penetration rates. The company noted a higher shipment proportion of its third and fourth generation RCD chips. Additionally, revenue from new interconnection chip products, such as MRCD/MDB, PCIe Retimer, CKD, and CXL MXC chips, has also seen substantial growth.
Looking ahead, Montage Technology plans to complete the engineering R&D of its third generation MRCD/MDB chips within the year. The industry anticipates that MRDIMM will enter large-scale application in the next two to three years, which is expected to increase memory module usage and expand the memory interconnection chip market size, fueled by rising CPU demand.
