MoneyGram launched its first stablecoin-backed Visa card, introducing the product first in Colombia. The card expands the company’s stablecoin business from remittance services into everyday spending use cases.
The 86-year-old payments company entered the stablecoin sector in 2021 through a partnership with the Stellar Development Foundation to support cash-to-USDC and USDC-to-cash exchanges. The new card supports USDC at launch, with plans to add MoneyGram’s dollar-pegged MGUSD stablecoin in the near future.
