Mistral AI completed a €3 billion Series D funding round, lifting its post-money valuation above €21 billion. The French artificial intelligence company said the round is the largest equity financing ever raised by a European technology company. Samsung Electronics led the round, with Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT and existing investor PSG Equity as co-leads. New investors included Advent, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, while backers including a16z, NVIDIA, Salesforce Ventures, General Catalyst, Index Ventures, and others also participated. Mistral AI said the funds will support frontier model research, computing power and infrastructure expansion, commercialization, and international market development. The company operates in 20 countries and serves more than 125 enterprises, including Airbus, ASML, and HSBC.
