Minnesota lawmakers have introduced a bill to ban cryptocurrency self-service kiosks across the state. Representative Erin Koegel submitted HF 3642 to the House Committee on Commerce, Finance and Policy, aiming to halt the installation and operation of these terminals. The Minnesota Department of Commerce supports the bill, citing concerns over scams targeting vulnerable residents. Last year, the department received 70 complaints about these kiosks, with reported losses totaling $540,000. Currently, around 350 licensed terminals are operated by 8 to 10 companies in Minnesota.
