Microsoft has partnered with North America's Building Trades Unions (NABTU) to provide free AI literacy courses and industry certification credentials to millions of skilled tradesworkers across North America. This initiative, announced on April 21, expands Microsoft's collaboration with NABTU and includes the nonprofit TradesFutures, which links job seekers to apprenticeship programs in 34 U.S. states. The program aims to enhance AI skills among tradesworkers, supporting community acceptance and workforce supply for AI infrastructure projects. This expansion builds on Microsoft's existing partnerships with the AFL-CIO and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
