MetaMask has unveiled a new self-custody feature called Money Accounts, which integrates stablecoin yield, payments, and transactions into a single balance on the Monad blockchain. Utilizing the mUSD stablecoin, users can earn up to 4% floating annualized yield by deploying funds through Veda infrastructure into DeFi lending protocols like Morpho, with Aave integration planned. The feature allows spending via MetaMask Card and supports top-ups from crypto or fiat, available globally except in the UK and certain restricted regions. Notably, mUSD's 1:1 backing in US dollars and short-term Treasury reserves operates independently from the yield system.
