Employees reportedly pushed back against internal AI project missteps and monitoring measures such as keyboard and mouse activity tracking, while AI agents and coding tools fell short of expected productivity gains. Zuckerberg said last month that progress in AI agents had not met expectations, but he expects improvement over the next three to six months. Meta said the initiative was a scenario-planning exercise, with some elements tied to employee reassignment.
