Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Display, the first smart glasses featuring an integrated display controlled by a neural technology-based bracelet. The glasses, which bridge the gap between Ray-Ban Meta and experimental AR glasses Orion, are accompanied by the Meta Neural Band, utilizing electromyography for control. Users can view videos and send text messages without visual obstruction. Despite a demonstration glitch, the glasses will be available in the US on September 30.
In addition, Zuckerberg introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard, designed for extreme sports and priced at $499, alongside an updated Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) for $379. Meta also announced Horizon TV, a VR content service with partners including Disney and Universal Pictures.
