Meta Platforms has officially separated its operations from Manus, a Chinese-founded AI service provider, halting data sharing between the two entities. This development marks a significant step towards dismantling the $2 billion acquisition of Manus. Since early June, Meta has restricted Manus and its employees from accessing its internal data systems, while also barring Meta employees from using Manus tools in internal projects. This strategic move aims to establish a clear division between the companies amid regulatory challenges, paving the way for the formal termination of the acquisition.
