Daniel Cunha, Head of Corporate Development at Mercado Bitcoin, Brazil's largest cryptocurrency exchange, revealed that corporate clients, primarily small and medium-sized enterprises, account for approximately 10% to 15% of the platform's custodial assets. These enterprises typically retain more than 90% of their holdings, using cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, USDT, and USDC for long-term reserves rather than active trading. The strategy aims to hedge against inflation, currency devaluation, and geopolitical risks. Cunha noted that increased institutional participation is reducing market volatility, making Bitcoin more appealing to financial executives.
