Matter Labs CEO Alex Glukhovsky has identified privacy as a crucial factor driving institutional interest in blockchain technology. He noted that banks and corporations are increasingly seeking zero-knowledge (ZK) solutions to ensure data confidentiality on public blockchains. Glukhovsky emphasized the need for corporations to maintain full control over their data streams, distinguishing between individual and institutional privacy needs. He also observed a shift in regulatory perspectives, with authorities beginning to differentiate between privacy technology and its potential misuse. The CEO pointed out that recent activity on ZKsync is largely fueled by institutional interest, spurred by new tokenomics and staking features. Initial implementations of institutional privacy systems are anticipated by the end of the year.
