Marvell Technology has introduced the Teralynx 102T, a groundbreaking networking switch capable of delivering 102.4 terabits per second of bandwidth. This new switch is designed specifically for AI data centers, doubling the capacity of Marvell's previous generation, which offered 51.2 Tbps. The Teralynx 102T features 64 ports, each capable of handling 1.6 terabits per second, emphasizing ultra-low latency and thermal efficiency to meet the demands of AI clusters. The Teralynx 102T is built on a monolithic die, enhancing integration and reducing latency, and is compatible with the open-source network operating system SONiC. Marvell faces competition from Broadcom's Tomahawk 6 series, which offers similar throughput and has already begun shipping. Marvell's success will depend on its ability to secure design wins with major cloud providers and deliver on its performance promises.
