Maple Finance has announced its expansion to the Solana network, utilizing Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to enable seamless data transfer between Ethereum and Solana ecosystems. The expansion, revealed on June 5, includes the introduction of Maple's syrupUSD stablecoin on Solana platforms Kamino and Orca, backed by an initial liquidity of $30 million. This strategic move aims to enhance lending, trading, and collateral services within Solana's decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. Maple's co-founder and CEO, Sid Powell, emphasized the opportunity to engage a wider audience, including institutional investors and advanced DeFi users. The expansion comes as Solana's total value locked (TVL) has increased by 500% over the past 18 months, presenting a competitive environment for lending protocols such as Maple, Save, margin.fi, Rain.fi, and Port Finance.
