A court in Tianshui's Qinzhou District has sentenced a man, Zeng, to two years and four months in prison for his role in a telecom fraud scheme involving cash withdrawals and cryptocurrency conversion. In October 2024, Zeng was recruited through social media for a high-paying courier job, where he knowingly collected cash packages from ride-hailing services in surveillance-free zones. Over seven days, he withdrew over 390,000 yuan, converting the funds into cryptocurrency for his superiors, earning an illegal profit of 21,504 yuan. The court also fined him 10,000 yuan and ordered the return of illicit gains.
