Maharashtra is developing a policy to tokenize state-owned assets on blockchain, including power transmission infrastructure, to raise funds for new transmission lines and energy storage facilities.
Praveen Pardeshi, CEO of the state's transformation agency MITRA, said transmission lines could be partially tokenized at ratios of up to 40% to 50%, allowing token holders to share in transmission revenue. The state also plans to enact India's first law on blockchain property tokenization.
