Solana-based lending protocol Loopscale paused operations after enduring a week of sustained targeted attacks that overwhelmed its API with over 30,000 malicious requests per day. The attacks primarily focused on the SOL and USDC Genesis Vaults, prompting the team to halt protocol activity to mitigate risks.
All user deposits remain safe, according to Loopscale, with affected vaults recapitalized and no losses incurred. The protocol will not resume normal operations until the full scope of the attacks is determined and security measures are strengthened. Loopscale plans to reopen its interface soon while restoring repayment functionality to prevent unexpected liquidations.
