The suspects allegedly operated fake trading websites and employed aggressive sales tactics to sell worthless tokens. Most of the fraudulent sites are now inactive. Action Fraud reported nearly 50,000 calls and 9,000 web chats in September 2025, with total fraud reports exceeding $3.3 billion this year.
