Ethereum L2 network Lisk officially shut down Lisk Chain on November 2, 2026, transitioning into a new enterprise-focused finance platform. The phased shutdown included the termination of user services such as Lisk Portal and Lisk Bridge, marking the end of its role as a blockchain scaling solution.
As part of the transition, approximately 5.2 million LSK tokens remaining in the staking rewards contract will be burned, including unallocated and unclaimed rewards. This follows a previous burn of 100 million LSK in September, further reducing total supply. LSK will continue to serve as the loyalty token for the new Lisk platform, running directly on Ethereum with a fixed total supply of 300 million and zero inflation rate.
The rebranded Lisk now positions itself as a modern finance platform for enterprises, integrating accounts, payments, and approvals into a single workspace while supporting fiat and stablecoins across more than 100 countries. Starting in 2027, enterprises will earn and use LSK within the platform.
