Linea, an Ethereum Layer 2 network developed by ConsenSys, has launched its native token, achieving a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of $1.7 billion. The token began trading at $0.024 following a Token Generation Event (TGE). Initially, the FDV reached $3 billion but decreased as airdrop claims commenced, a typical trend in token launches.
Despite the decline, Linea ranks third in FDV among Ethereum L2 tokens, following Arbitrum and Optimism. The drop in FDV was largely due to early users selling their tokens, leading to price volatility. Linea's strong FDV ranking underscores market confidence in its potential, leveraging zk-rollup technology for efficient transactions while maintaining Ethereum's security.
