Lighter has announced the upcoming launch of a LIT token staking feature on its platform, offering users significant incentives. For every 1 LIT staked, participants will receive 10 USDC in Lighter LLP. A two-week grace period until January 28th allows existing LLP holders to maintain their funds without staking. Post-grace period, staked LIT must remain in LLP. The platform will adjust premium rates for market makers and high-frequency trading firms, increasing overall rates. However, staking LIT will provide a fee discount, keeping the lowest fee tier stable. Retail trading remains free, and staking 100 LIT will waive withdrawal and transfer fees. The staking feature, set to launch for mobile users soon, promises returns with specific annualized rates to be announced later.
