Ledger's Donjon team has discovered a critical vulnerability in MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chip, which is widely used in Android devices. The flaw, deemed unpatchable, allows attackers to use electromagnetic pulses to bypass security measures and gain full control of affected devices, potentially accessing stored private keys. MediaTek clarified that the chip is intended for consumer use, not high-security applications, raising concerns for smartphone-based crypto wallets. Ledger stressed the importance of secure element hardware to safeguard digital assets.
