LayerZero and Keeta have announced a partnership to introduce a new tokenized commercial bank currency, facilitating interoperability across Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Keeta networks. The initiative centers around the Keeta stablecoin, a novel tokenized commercial bank currency backed by commercial bank deposits and traded via the Bivo platform. Bivo, a U.S.-licensed fintech platform, connects to the U.S. payment system and collaborates with a network of partner banks. Unlike traditional stablecoins that rely on various reserves, the Keeta stablecoin represents actual commercial bank deposits, maintaining full contract authority through LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token Standard. The Keeta stablecoin will be issued in USD later this month, with plans to introduce additional currencies including EUR, JPY, CNY, GBP, CAD, MXN, AED, and HKD.
