Latvia plans to launch a regulatory framework for real-world asset (RWA) tokenization in the first half of 2027, Economy Minister Viktors Valainis announced. Commercial real estate is expected to serve as the initial use case, with government bonds also prioritized in the rollout.
The Ministry of Economy is collaborating with the central bank, the Ministry of Finance, and industry representatives to develop the framework. However, the legislative assessment originally scheduled for completion by October 1 remains ongoing.
