Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to resume cryptocurrency mining operations once the country's energy situation stabilizes. Mining farms were recently shut down due to energy shortages linked to low water levels at a key hydroelectric reservoir. The government has implemented a power-saving regime, halting mining activities until March.
Japarov highlighted that two mining facilities will restart after the cold season. One facility in Kemin imports electricity from Russia, contributing to the national budget, while another at the Kambar-Ata Hydroelectric Power Plant was utilizing unused capacity. The President emphasized that with new infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan will invite miners to operate during periods of electricity surplus.
