The latest "2026 Wealth Report" by Knight Frank reveals significant growth in the global population of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), defined as those with a net worth exceeding $30 million. The number of UHNWIs increased from 551,435 in 2021 to 713,626 in 2026, with the United States contributing 41% of the new additions. The US share of global UHNWIs rose from 33% in 2021 to 35% in 2026, and is projected to reach 41% by 2031.
India emerged as the fastest-growing market, with its UHNWI population increasing by 63% from 2021 to 2026, reaching nearly 20,000 individuals. Meanwhile, China, although still the second-largest wealth center, saw a decline in its global share from 18% to 17% over the same period. The report also highlights significant growth in Australia, where the UHNWI population is expected to grow by nearly 60% by 2031. Regionally, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe dominate the global wealth landscape, with the Middle East showing notable growth in its share of billionaires.
