Kite, an AI payment public chain, has announced its mainnet roadmap, focusing on developing a native trust and payment technology stack for AI agents. The roadmap addresses key challenges in AI agent transformation, such as trust, authorization, and payment, by introducing the x402 protocol for standardized payment intentions and auditing. The system is structured around six pillars: agent trust, settlement, developer infrastructure, network operation, AgenticFi, and ecosystem growth. Kite plans a phased mainnet launch over one to two years, emphasizing security, auditability, and scalability. The company recently secured $33 million in funding from PayPal Ventures, General Catalyst, and Coinbase Ventures, supporting its vision of a sustainable smart agent economy.
