Kerberus has acquired Refract, the developer of Pocket Universe, for a seven-figure sum to enhance its crypto security offerings. The acquisition aims to develop dedicated antivirus software to address increasing malware threats in the crypto space. Kerberus plans to integrate Pocket Universe with its Sentinel3 security extension, expanding protection across all EVM chains and Solana. The initial version of the new antivirus product is expected to launch in approximately four months. Additionally, Ran Neuner will join Kerberus as a strategic advisor and distribution partner, while Pocket Universe founders Justin Phu and Nishan Samarasinghe will step back from their roles.
