Kalshi has initiated approximately 200 investigations over the past year, freezing several suspicious accounts. The platform disclosed two resolved insider trading cases, reporting them to the CFTC as required. In one case, a California gubernatorial candidate traded contracts related to their election prospects for about $200 and posted on social media, resulting in a 5-year trading ban and a fine ten times the initial trade amount. In another case, a Beast Industries editor traded approximately $4,000, triggering surveillance due to a near-perfect win rate on low-probability contracts, suggesting access to significant non-public information. This individual received a 2-year suspension and was fined, with profits reclaimed.
