Jito Network has unveiled two proposals aimed at optimizing its Stake Pool mechanism. The JIP-25 proposal seeks to increase the number of Stake Pool validators to 400, adjust the StakeNet scoring system, and refine the ranking mechanism to minimize PvP behavior and bolster network health. Additionally, a draft proposal suggests introducing a "directed staking" feature, enabling large JitoSOL holders and certain DeFi protocols to stake directly with eligible validators, while still allocating most stakes through a permissionless algorithm.
These initiatives are designed to improve the stability of Stake Pool returns, support high-quality validators, and advance the Solana ecosystem. The proposals reflect Jito Network's commitment to enhancing network performance and validator quality.
