Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has launched a new task force to develop a national framework for AI-driven on-chain finance, marking a significant legislative effort towards tokenized financial infrastructure. The "Next-Generation AI and On-Chain Finance Vision Project Team" held its inaugural meeting under the LDP's Digital Society Promotion Headquarters, led by former Digital Minister Taira Masaaki and chaired by Kihara Seiji, a former Ministry of Finance official. The task force aims to create a white paper outlining necessary regulatory reforms, including trust law, deposit insurance, and KYC frameworks, to integrate existing financial components into a cohesive system. This initiative is expected to influence Japan's growth strategy and fiscal policy guidelines, with the goal of pressuring regulators and encouraging traditional financial institutions to invest in blockchain infrastructure.
