Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Nobitex, has processed at least $2.3 billion through the Tron and BNB Chain networks since 2023, according to a Reuters investigation. The report highlights that the founders of these blockchains, Justin Sun and Changpeng Zhao, are key supporters of the Trump family's crypto project, World Liberty Financial (WLF). This financial flow suggests an indirect connection between sanctioned entities and decentralized networks linked to Trump's business allies.
In response, both the White House and WLF have denied any conflicts of interest or connections. Representatives from Binance and Tron stated that BNB Chain and Tron are independent, permissionless public blockchains, and as technology providers, they cannot monitor or control individual transactions on their networks.
