Immutable announced that Immutable Chain will upgrade from its custom geth fork to an OP Stack-based chain in 2027. The transition aims to deliver faster transaction speeds and tighter integration with Ethereum's security model. All accounts, balances, and smart contracts will migrate automatically as part of the upgrade. Immutable stated that nearly all users will not need to take any action during the process.
