Ika has introduced a multi-party computation (MPC) design that facilitates trustless cross-chain signatures, aiming to unlock tens of billions in dormant Bitcoin liquidity. Currently, less than 1% of Bitcoin is actively used in DeFi, and Ika's architecture seeks to transform decentralized cross-chain operations by removing bridge risks and the need for wrapped tokens. The protocol utilizes Sui’s object-based blockchain, enabling distributed networks to generate cryptographically secure signatures with user involvement. Developers such as Human Tech and Native are anticipated to release products utilizing Ika's technology later this year.
