iFlytek will open-source two on-device general-purpose large models, Spark X2.5-4B and Spark X2.5-1.7B, on September 1. The company said both models support a native context window of up to 1 million tokens and improve core capabilities including agents, mathematics, and general understanding for on-device use cases such as in-vehicle systems, smart hardware, and the Internet of Everything. The company will officially release the Spark X2.5 (293B) base model on September 7, with further upgrades in coding and agent capabilities. iFlytek previously said during its 2026 semi-annual results briefing that it plans to launch a new flagship general-purpose large model built entirely on domestic computing power at this year’s 1024 Global Developer Festival.
