Michael Blaugrund, Vice President of Strategic Planning at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and former NYSE COO, stated that Avalanche meets many requirements for the planned NYSE on-chain Alternative Trading System (ATS). Blaugrund confirmed ICE is in close contact with the Avalanche team during the platform evaluation process, though no cooperation agreement has been announced and the assessment does not constitute a final selection.
ICE disclosed the ATS initiative in February, aiming to combine the NYSE Pillar matching engine with on-chain settlement to enable 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks against stablecoins with instant settlement. The company previously indicated it would utilize a private permissioned blockchain but has not yet specified which network will be selected for the infrastructure.
