Hyperliquid's price surged over 6% to approximately $29.23 during Asian trading hours on Friday after the launch of its U.S. policy center. This initiative aims to enhance regulatory clarity for decentralized finance and on-chain derivatives, marking Hyperliquid as one of the few decentralized platforms engaging with U.S. policymakers. The Hyper Foundation has committed 1 million HYPE tokens, valued at around $29 million, to support the center's operations.
Despite the price increase, Hyperliquid's network activity has softened, with total value locked dropping from $4.7 billion to $4.2 billion and weekly revenue declining by 55% to $11.83 million. Additionally, a significant token unlock of 9.92 million HYPE tokens, worth approximately $291 million, is scheduled for March 6, potentially adding short-term supply pressure. The token remains under technical resistance, trading below a descending trendline and more than 25% below its yearly high of $37.84.
