Hyperliquid has enabled USDT borrowing on its testnet, marking the second stablecoin available for its portfolio margin feature. The mainnet upgrade, expected soon, will allow traders to borrow USDT, the world's most widely used stablecoin, on the decentralized exchange. This feature lets users manage spot trades and perpetual contracts from a unified account using HYPE tokens as collateral. Previously, only USDC was available for borrowing since the feature's launch in December 2025. Hyperliquid plans to expand its offerings with USDH and BTC as future borrowable assets. The platform operates on its own custom blockchain, designed for high throughput and low transaction costs, and has recently increased its validator set from 24 to 27. Notably, Hyperliquid does not require KYC, offering a decentralized alternative to centralized exchanges.
