Huawei has launched its open-source large model, openPangu 2.0, at HDC 2026, featuring Pro and Flash versions with 512K context support. The 2.0 Pro model boasts 5.05 trillion total parameters and 18 billion active parameters, while the 2.0 Flash model includes 920 billion total parameters and 6 billion active parameters. Huawei claims the model's single-card throughput on Ascend computing power is double that of other mainstream open-source models and is optimized for HarmonyOS, enhancing task speed and accuracy. Starting June 30, Huawei plans to open-source seven components, including pre-training and post-training codes. CEO Yu Chengdong noted that due to limited retained computing power, Huawei will focus on optimizing latency and throughput rates.
