HSBC has appointed Mark Augustynak, a precious metals trader from ICBC Standard Bank, as the new global head of metal trading. Augustynak is expected to join HSBC by mid-2026. This appointment follows the departure of Vincent Domien, who left HSBC at the end of 2025 to join Tether, before leaving Tether in March 2026. Sources indicate that Domien is now set to join ICBC Standard Bank as head of precious metals trading.
