The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued a circular on January 26, requiring licensed corporations, SFC-licensed virtual asset service providers, and related entities to transition to the new Joint Financial Intelligence Unit platform, STREAMS 2, by February 2, 2026, for submitting suspicious transaction reports. From February 2, STREAMS 2 will be the sole channel for submissions, supporting XML format, specified PDF uploads, or online form submissions. The existing STREAMS system will cease to accept reports from midnight on January 28.
