The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) reported an 18% year-on-year increase in average daily turnover for the first half of 2026, reaching HK$283 billion compared to HK$240.2 billion in the same period last year. Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw a 17% rise in average daily turnover to HK$39.6 billion, while leveraged and inverse products surged 110% to HK$8.8 billion. In June 2026, the average daily turnover was HK$319.1 billion, marking a 9% increase from May and a 39% rise from June 2025. Additionally, IPO funds raised in the first half of 2026 totaled HK$210.2 billion, a 92% increase from the previous year, with 87 new listings, nearly doubling from 44 last year. Total funds raised amounted to HK$346.1 billion, up 22% year-on-year.
