HIVE Digital Technologies, a publicly traded Canadian mining company, announced plans to gradually reduce its ASIC Bitcoin mining operations at the Boden data center in Sweden. The decision is driven by tax disputes and operational uncertainties. Concurrently, HIVE is expanding its AI data center capabilities in Canada through its subsidiary, BUZZ High Performance Computing. The company aims to increase its liquid-cooled computing capacity from 4MW to approximately 16.6MW and plans to deploy thousands of GPUs for AI training and inference.
