Hundreds of high-net-worth investors have used cryptocurrency to purchase real estate in Europe over the past year, according to Nikolay Denisenko, co-founder of crypto payment app Brighty. The platform has facilitated over 100 transactions, primarily in the UK, France, Malta, Cyprus, and Andorra, with individual transaction values ranging from $500,000 to $2.5 million.
Previously, many high-net-worth clients preferred using USDC, issued by Circle, for these transactions. However, to avoid conversion costs, there is a growing trend of clients opting for euro-pegged stablecoins like EURC.
