Japanese digital wallet developer HashPort is set to introduce yen stablecoin payment options for the restaurant chain Chibo. Starting April 7, Chibo's flagship store in Osaka's Sennichimae and its Tokyo Yurakucho location will pilot JPYC payments. Customers can complete fee-free transactions by scanning a QR code using the HashPort Wallet. The company plans to evaluate the pilot's success before potentially expanding to more locations and supporting other stablecoins like USDC.
