Hashgraph Group has launched TrackTrace, a supply chain tracking platform built on Hedera, to support the EU's digital product passport initiative. This tool is designed to assist companies in meeting the EU's upcoming product compliance requirements by creating a verifiable audit trail of product information. TrackTrace records data on the flow and emissions of goods and uses AI to automate compliance reporting. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Product Ecodesign Regulation, effective since July 2024, which sets a framework for digital product passports. The first major milestone under this regulation is the EU Battery Regulation, effective February 2027, targeting electric vehicles and industrial batteries, with other sectors like textiles and steel to follow from July 2027.
